About
This is a supported cycle tour through scenic mountain forests, with all meals and water provided, along with a support car for mechanical assistance. A Physiotherapist will also be available to assist with injuries/strapping if required. You can ride each day at your own pace and your equipment will be transported each day in the support vehicle.
Accommodation
Accommodation is camping and we will provide tents, inflatable matresses, sleeping bags and pillows. The camp grounds are basic, with wood fired showers and toilets. Each campground is at 600m-900m asl and temperatures can drop down to 5-10 degrees overnight.
Bike type
We will provide quality hardtail mountain bikes as they are a good all-rounder for gravel and sealed roads. The majority of the ride is on gravel roads, but there is the option for some more technical single track riding on Day 1. All bikes will have spares kits and pumps attached but mechanical support will also be provided throughout the tour.
There is an option to hire an ebike for the tour for $200. There will be a limit of 5 ebikes available for rent.
Transport to the start/finish
We will arrange to pick up participants from The Strand or Townsville Airport at approximately 7am on the first day of the tour. There is a 90 minute drive up to the start of the ride in the mountain village of Paluma. All participants will be transported from Ingham back to Townsville at the end of the tour.
