FAQ

What do I get with my bike rental?

All bike rentals come with a helmet, pump, spare tube kit, lock, water bottle holder and map. We can provide extra accessories for an additional fee.

I'm not a confident cyclist. What support can you give me?

We understand that riding a bike can sometimes be a bit daunting. At NQ Cycle Journeys we provide:

  • quality, serviced bikes

  • personalised fitting 

  • education and information on how to use your bike

  • maps and route advice

  • mechanical support

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries or concerns.

You are only open limited hours. Is it possible to rent and return outside of these hours?

It may be possible to provide bike rental outside of our advertised opening hours. We are a small, start-up business and still working our day jobs. Contact us to arrange bike rental after hours.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, eftpos, all major credit cards and online payments through our booking portal.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes. Contact us if you wish to purchase a gift card or voucher.

What are your cancellation/rescheduling policies?

Bike Hire and Day Tour Cancellation Policy

  • If you need to reschedule your booking to a later date, there will not be any rebooking fee if you provide >24hrs notice. Rebooking will be subject to availability.

  • If you cancel your booking, we will refund you the cost minus our cancellation fee:

    • More than 7 days from the booking: 10% of the cost

    • 7 days to 48hrs from the booking: 20% of the cost

    • Less than 48hrs from the booking: 50% of the cost

  • If your booking is cancelled by the operator (NQ Cycle Journeys), you can reschedule to a later date at no cost or receive a full refund

We highly recommend travel insurance to provide protection against unforeseen circumstances affecting your holiday.

Rescheduling tours:

  • If you need to reschedule your booking, the following fees will apply:

    •  >28 days notice: no rebooking fee

    • 15 to 28 days from the booking: 20% of the cost

    • 8 to 14 days from the booking: 50% of the cost

    • 0 to 7 days from the booking: 75% of the cost

  • . Rebooking will be subject to availability, however please note we only run 2-3 tours per year. 

Cancelling tours:

  • If you cancel your booking, the following fees will apply:

    • More than 28 days from the booking: 10% of the cost

    • 15 to 28 days from the booking: 50% of the cost

    • 8 to 14 days from the booking: 75% of the cost

    • 0 to 7 days from the booking: 100% of the cost

  • If your booking is cancelled by the operator (NQ Cycle Journeys), you can reschedule to a later date at no cost or receive a full refund

  • Please note that the trip will not be cancelled due to inclement weather UNLESS there is a significant risk to safety e.g. cyclone or flooding on the cycle route

  • The cycle route may be changed before and during the trip to ensure rider safety.  If the trip is shortened, then a proportionate amount of the fee will be refunded.

  • We highly recommend travel insurance to provide protection against unforeseen circumstances affecting your holiday
